Pet Portraits, Equine and Wildlife Illustration
Hello!
Allow me to introduce myself...
I'm Carol Spencer, wife to a long suffering husband, Mum to a rather cheeky little boy, and until recently, proud hooman to our little fur ball - 'Bella' (she was rather old, but still puppy cute) rescue dog from Crete.
I am based at the edge of a very cold and windswept village called Queensbury, West Yorkshire. Here, I love gazing out of my studio window whilst working, looking at the stunning views across the valley towards the moors... When I'm not busy in the studio, and on a daily wander, I love nothing more than watching the local wildlife and farm animals, and soaking up the breath taking Yorkshire scenery

My Story
It all started many years ago..... About 30 to be precise!
I have worked in the creative industry from leaving school Starting as a studio junior (and tea maker!) for a local greeting card company... Working my way along to being a 'embellishment' artist, calligrapher, digital artist and finally party products design manager
After a chaotic few years of running a pub/restaurant, then emigrating to the stunning Greek island of Crete, I went it alone as a digital freelance artist... finally returning home to Yorkshireland a few years ago!
Recently, I have enjoyed being a hobby artist using more the traditional methods of hand drawing with pencils to create artworks.
This recent creative journey, started in the lockdown of 2020 when I drew 'my Bella' for fun (and to keep sane from home-schooling!) and posted the picture on my social media. Amazingly, from that one post, I have received many requests from friends and family to draw their pet! The drawing of Bella now sits proud on my dining room wall, and as the emblem for Carol Spencer Art.
Fast forward 2 years and here I am, doing what I love... Drawing pictures of pets and wildlife the traditional way! (and generally being a bit arty!) after daily walks taking in the local scenery!
